The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

New Animations!

I've had some issues uploading my new animations to deviantart. Everything becomes jerky. So instead I've uploaded them to Vimeo which has had no problems.

One of my animations is my final assignment for university. It was a study of compositing programs over a few weeks. It consists of over 30 layers. Not that many compared to professionals who use over 100, but my pc can't handle that. Here is the link [link]

The other animation is Night's Story again, however, :iconmorphiul: provided the music to it. Many thanks to him for taking the time to create this. I love it and hope you guys take the time to watch it and comment on his work. Here's the link [link]

God yeah. Try doing that for 6 months! The job market is so shit in the music industry right now.

Yea, I need to create a nice looking portfolio and send it out there. I should do that this week. Getting into a production house would be awesome, seems more secure than freelance.

Aye, more secure. In the UK, the only major production company that EMPLOYS is the BBC, all others are freelance. And young audio people now have to wait for all the old, experienced freelancers to die off before we get a look in.

I bought a new pair of reference monitors a week ago, so I'm busy getting my own portfolio together.
