yea, flash is real nice to start with. What I recommend is not do a film, rather do animation exercises. For instance, a walk cycle or an attack animation. That way you won't get bored of your project. One thing I've learnt, a film takes a loooonngggg time to make.
yeah that sounds good. However, My long term goal in becoming an animator is to create the type of animations that you would see in Television anime series and such. Would that be possible (with enough practice and skill) to do in flash?
Life drawing is the key to being an anime animator. I'd focus more on traditional animation with paper and pencil to achieve that goal. But really work on your linework and proportions. Check out this artist. He has a few linetests on his site which are amazing. [link] Hope that helps
